Downtown Redmond Link Extension

As the systems subcontractor, Mass. Electric Construction Co. (MEC) installed all rail systems for the 3.4-mile Downtown Redmond Extension project. The project included two passenger stations, one parking garage, three traction power substations, seven miles of standard overhead catenary (OCS), and one interlocking. 

On this design-build contract, MEC provided preconstruction and constructability services prior to installing the complete systems package, involving train control and signaling, communications, overhead catenary and traction power. MEC also integrated and supplied the traction power substations.
