Peters Upgrade 138kV Substation

Mass. Electric Construction Co. (MEC) installed all grounding/ground grid network additions — including fence grounding, control house grounding, cable trench and structure, pull box and equipment grounds — as well as all required conduits, pull boxes and conduit terminations for this lump-sum, bid-build project.
The project scope included:
- Replacement of one, 138Kv,4000A switch, VB and necessary hardware
- Replacement of two 138kv, 4000A load-break switches including all necessary control pipes, operating mechanisms, insulators and adjustments
- Replacement of one, 4000A Wave Trap on to existing structure, including all necessary jumpers, operating mechanisms, insulators and adjustments
- Replacement of one 138kv, 4000A breaker including and all necessary control cables, operating mechanisms, insulators, support structures and adjustments
- Installation/modification/reconfiguration of all 6-in. aluminum tubing, 3 – 2000mcm aluminum wire and jumpers
- Replacement of existing cap and pin insulators with new station post insulators
- Wire-in of one, 138kv breaker, including modification of all necessary hardware, trays, wiring, grounds, ground bar and cable/wire connections
- Installation, revision, removal of components and wiring on all control panels, wiring trays, alarm/control boxes, AC/DC service panels, equipment and apparatus
