Groveland 3.6MW Solar Farm

Groveland, Mass.

Groveland Solar Project is a 3.6 MW solar farm on approximately 25 acres of land located in Groveland, Massachusetts. Mass. Electric Construction Co. (MEC) self-performed all the duct work, cable pulling, building racking systems, terminating cable wires including six inverters and the 15 kV power, and installed 12,672 solar modules.

Sugar Land Surface Water Treatment Plant

Sugar Land, Texas

Mass. Electric Construction Co. (MEC) was the electrical subcontractor on the Sugar Land Surface Water Treatment Plant Project. Located on a 40-acre greenfield site, regulatory mandates from county and state levels required the City of Sugar Land, and seventeen surrounding municipalities, to provide 30% of the water supply from surface sources by 2016.

Milton Academy 192.27 kWP Roof-Mounted Solar Array

Norfolk, Mass.

In April 2012 Mass. Electric Construction Co. (MEC) began installation of a roof-mounted solar system on the Milton Academy ACC Building. The project consists of the design and installation of a 192.27 kWp solar power system. The system will operate parallel to the utility supply, and will offset the amount of daily power sourced by the facility.

In light of the threat presented by the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority had to come up with a way to monitor its new $15 Billion underground highway. (MEC) was selected to be the installer for the security system, which would allow the new Central Artery/Tunnel (CA/T) system to be monitored from one central location.

In the spring of 2008, the installation of 528 photovoltaic panels on the roof of a manufacturing building was completed. This solar project is capable of producing 100,320 watts of direct current (DC) power, which is then inverted to approximately 85,000 wat ts of alternating current (AC) at 480 VAC.
