BART Warm Springs LTSS - Fremont, Calif.
This design-build project will extend BART service 5.4 miles south from the existing terminal station in Fremont to Warm Springs, in Northern California’s East Bay area. A double-track line will be constructed from the Fremont Station, through Central Park Subway, past a future passenger station site at Irvington, and then along-side Union Pacific Rail Road (UPRR) tracks to an existing UPRR switching yard at Warm Springs.
The project features include two new bridge structures, a new station and parking lot at Warm Springs, track way grading, drainage, and retaining walls and utilities. MEC will install all special track work and contact rail. Transit systems and facilities are key components on this project involving building and integrating new traction power, train control, communication, fare collection and ventilation systems.
