FIELDS POINT LNG FACILITY
Providence, Rhode Island
With a capacity of 20 million standard cubic feet per day, the additions to this small-scale natural gas treatment and liquefaction facility provided safe, reliable and cost-effective means for meeting peak demand. This expansion scope included gas pretreatment, compression and nitrogen cycle liquefaction with electric-driven compressors. With careful planning and interfaces, work was performed in and around the existing facility without plant shutdowns.
Auxiliary equipment associated with this project included:
- New electric service and associated electrical transformers
- Electric motor-driven feed gas booster compressor
- Motor control center (MCC)
- Molecular sieve and dehydration pre-treatment
- Molecular sieve regeneration heater
- Nitrogen storage (N2 cycle liquefaction)
- Emergency generator for safety and control systems.
- Gas compression
- LNG storage tank
- Fin-fan process coolers
